The Youth Fund (YF) program, launched in 2005 by Eurasia Partnership Foundation, aims to empower youth in the regions of Azerbaijan to tackle social and economic challenges in their communities; participate as active citizens in their communities; and develop professional governance and management skills through capacity-building exercises. Based on the experience and best practices of countries, participants in the program gain confidence in themselves as leaders and in their abilities to act as full-fledged members of their communities.
Eurasia Partnership Foundation (EPF) is pleased to announce a competition for the best creative / artistic project which will best promote YF and its activities. EPF invites young people from all over Azerbaijan to generate creative ideas which will promote YF’s work and youth participation in community development.
As part of the YF program, this competition aims to provide a platform which will encourage you to come up with innovative, artistic ideas to improve and benefit your own community. If you are under 30-years-old and you are interested in the Youth Fund and youth activities, then this is an excellent opportunity for you to make your creative ideas a reality and to be recognized as one of the most talented young artists, designers, photographers, weavers and/or filmmakers living in Azerbaijan.
Your projects should share the most inspiring stories, best practices and experiences in the field of YF activities and youth engagement. There are no set artistic parameters, and the field is wide-open: you can write a story; design a mural; paint or draw; weave a carpet; take a photograph; or create a computer-generated image. Film and/or video submissions are also encouraged: material can also be, for example, in the form of a short film, a Youtube video or a TV spot. Submitted materials must be your own original creations, and not have been previously published anywhere. All submissions should be in either Azerbaijani or English, if applicable.
Initially, you are encouraged to prepare a proposal, including budget details. The proposal should include a detailed description of the project (image, film, carpet, etc.), and the budget should contain an itemized list of all projected costs related to the undertaking (i.e. video tape, yarn). Based on your proposals, EPF will select a group of 10-15 young people and will organize a tour to the 19 rayons where Youth Funds currently operate (Ganja, Gazakh, Goygol, Tovuz, Agstafa, Shamkir, Samukh, Yevlakh, Mingechevir, Tartar, Barda, Agdash, Ujar, Guba, Gusar, Goranboy, Gadabay, Shaki, Gakh). EPF will cover all expenses related to transportation, accommodation, meals and costs of supplies necessary for the preparation of proposed material.
All materials will be judged based on the content and creativity of the submissions. At the final stage, the jury will select the three best projects and these winners will be awarded with valuable prizes.
The extended deadline to send your proposals is 15 December 2011, 18:00. Don’t forget to provide your name, occupation, and contact details as well as a short description of the project in the body of the email and send it to info@epfound.az.
Good luck!
