EPF Awarded Youth Actively Writing on Issues of their Communities

As one of its youth engagement activities, EPF built a network through which young people from various regions of Azerbaijan, not only share their opinions on the issues common to their communities, but also make their voices heard. In the framework of the Citizen Journalism E-media Program a social network www.regiondan.info was created for youth participating in the program which is being implemented by the EPF in the five regions, namely Qazakh, Aghstafa, Samukh, Barda and Agcabadi.

The main purpose of the webpage is to create a communication space for young citizens of the regions to advance their knowledge on social and economic issues of Azerbaijan, by sharing observations and experiences they gain in their communities. This initiative of EPF also provides opportunities for youth to develop their writing skills, obtain more experience, increase self- capacity to participate in public discussions, and above all, participate in the project unique and new to their communities. This would, in turn, increase awareness among young generation of their age on social and civic activism, and encourage them to realize further projects in this path.
