

On June 7th 2010, EPF in partnership with Procter & Gamble and cooperation with British Council organized a workshop on CSR for representatives of business sector and NGOs. The workshop conducted by three prominent experts from Turkey.
Ms. Melike Ozener- Corporate Communication & Reputation (CC&R) Manager for P&G Turkey in her presentation talked about company’s experience in CSR, the strategies and achievements as well as P & G’s ability to address major social problems and needs in countries where company is operating.
The second presentation was given by Mr. Serdar Dinler – the founder and Director of Board of Directors of Corporate Social Responsibility Association of Turkey (CSR Turkey), who talked about the development and current state of CSR is Turkey. Mr.Dinler also spoke about the prospective of CSR for Azerbaijan and acknowledged the achievements of Eurasia Partnership Foundation in promoting CSR culture among businesses in Azerbaijan.
The final presentation was delivered by Ms. Ayshegul Hatay – a well-known expert and consultant working with major Turkish companies on their CSR Management and Reporting processes. During her presentation Ms.Hatay introduced the participants to the concepts and principles of applicable CSR.
On June 8th 2010 Ms.Hatay was invited to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan to deliver CSR seminar to the representatives of banking sector responsible for business development, marketing and public relations. The deputy chairman of the CBA Aftandil Babayev in his opening speech stressed the importance and relevance of the topic for country’s banking system.
During her presentation Ms.Hatay stated that in current business world banks are playing significant role in the promotion of CSR culture. She also noticed the Central Bank’s efforts in raising awareness about corporate social responsibility among banks in Azerbaijan should become an example for other countries.
In the course of the seminar the participants talked about the differences between CSR strategies of their banks and discussed issues of transparency and CSR reporting.
